The widower of philanthropist Marylou Whitney said he needs to sell the land because he will no longer be able to take the tax breaks on the lands.
The only independent, nonprofit news organization solely dedicated to reporting on the Adirondack Park.

The widower of philanthropist Marylou Whitney said he needs to sell the land because he will no longer be able to take the tax breaks on the lands.
John Hendrickson, owner of 36,000 acres in Long Lake, said he will not sell his property to the state or developers.
"The intact forests and beauty and sheer number of lakes and ponds set this property apart from all others."
