On Nov. 25 at approximately 6:30 p.m., ECO Bret Canary received a call from a group of hunters in the Wolf Lake State Forest in St. Lawrence County. The group had lost communications with a member of their hunting party.

Within days of getting fiber-optic access in 2017, she was able to live video chat several times a day with students she teaches in China.

DEC’s Ray Brook Dispatch received a transferred call from Franklin County 911 from a hiker reporting that a 27-year-old companion from Astoria had injured her knee halfway up Basin Mountain. Forest Rangers Peter Evans and James Giglinto were dispatched to respond on a UTV on the Southside Trail to the John's Brook Outpost.

Hikers will be directed to the Cross Country Parking Lot at ORDA's Olympic Sports Complex beginning Friday morning and throughout the holiday weekend.
