Through its news reporting and analysis, the nonprofit Adirondack Explorer furthers the wise stewardship, public enjoyment for all, community vitality, and lasting protection of the Adirondack park.

Some semblance of normalcy is returning to the events world of the Adirondacks, as organizers are planning to hold canoe races, bike tours, and a frog jumping contest in the coming months.

On Monday, the state Department of Transportation installed dozens of steel stakes along Route 73 to prevent people from parking on the shoulder of the highway or in two pull-offs in the pass.
A constitutional amendment could save a 1940s-era Adirondack camp, but past amendments and proposals leave questions.
