Adirondack artisan Bob Jones has been carving for more than 50 years and making decoys professionally for decades.

At the end of 2021, Explorer contributor Tom French interviewed Bob and his wife, Linda and wrote this story about them. Then Tom and his daughter, Emma, returned to the Jones’ home and studio and recorded the above video. In it, you can see Bob at work in his Cranberry Lake studio and learn about the process and skills that go into carving and creating wooden decoys.

I am so pleased that I was able to bring one of Bob’s loons home with me today from the Long Lake farmer’s market. His work is outstanding. He and Linda were so sweet, friendly, and easy going. I hope to someday visit at their workshop in Cranberry Lake!
    Thank you, Bob and Linda!
