SECURING THE FUTURE FOR
THE ADIRONDACK EXPLORER THROUGH ITS ENDOWMENT
There are many ways that you can invest in the Adirondack Explorer, thereby ensuring our effectiveness and longevity.
Gifts of Cash–Outright contributions are the easiest way to give. When considering the size of your gift, remember that you may make an outright gift or a pledge that can be fulfilled over several years. Contributions of cash are tax deductible.
Gifts of Appreciated Assets–Any appreciated asset, such as securities or real estate, that is donated to the Explorer qualifies for both a federal and state tax deduction and avoids the tax on capital gains. You receive a charitable deduction for its fair-market value, and you escape tax on the capital-gain element in the property.
Charitable Bequest–You may designate the Adirondack Explorer as a direct beneficiary of specific assets, of a portion of your estate or of your residuary estate.
Whatever the size of your bequest, you can have a lasting impact on the Explorer and help to ensure permanent protection of the Adirondack Park for future generations.
We suggest the following wording for a bequest:
I bequeath $___________(or a percentage of the residuary estate) toward the endowment of the Adirondack Explorer, a nonprofit news organization devoted to the preservation and enjoyment of the Adirondacks.
The Adirondack Explorer is pleased to work with donors to define the terms of your gifts. We invite you to contact Tracy Ormsbee, Publisher, if you have questions, need more information, or would like to meet. You may reach her at (518) 891-9352; Tracy@AdirondackExplorer.org; or by mail at 36 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.
The Adirondack Explorer is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and gifts to the Explorer are fully tax deductible as allowed by law
