A few stories posted this past week have reminded me that there often can be positive and negative takeaways from the news, depending on your point of view.
Some examples:
SWIMMING UPSTREAM: Throughout November, we’ve been looking at efforts to bring back salmon in a real way. While the renewed focus is encouraging, the (literal) obstacles — dams — reveal the work still ahead. HOW TOXIC IS IT?: While the discovery of hazardous algal blooms (HABS) on Lake George and Lake Placid’s Mirror Lake is definitely bad news, the silver lining is the finding that the blooms don’t pose a serious threat to water supplies. READ MORE
