Hi Brian, and thank you Gwen Craig, for giving us this timely update on our very own hometown reporter’s exploits.

It is so important for those of us living our sheltered, privileged existence here to have accurate and thoughtful reporting by a talented journalist like Brian on the scene to help us grasp the true facts about this war that Putin has unleashed upon the world. And what a great idea to report on the awful destruction in Ukraine right next to well chosen scenic panoramas from our beautiful Adirondacks. Surely it makes most of us pause and reflect on how lucky we are to be here and not in Ukraine.

I also hope that Brian’s reporting will make some people rethink the violence unleashed on our Capitol on 1/6/21, poo-pooed by some as “legitimate political discourse”. Maybe they’ll have second thoughts about what could happen here if we condone violence and destruction to bring about authoritarian rule over America’s democracy.

Thank you Brian. Be safe over there. Adirondack spring is on the way.
