Van Hoevenberg Nordic Opening Saturday, Gore Next Weekend


The Mt. Van Hoevenberg Nordic ski center, in Lake Placid, is scheduled to open for the 2018-’19 season, Saturday, November 17, weather and conditions permitting. The center’s earliest-ever planned opening comes after members of the U.S. para-Nordic ski team held their week-long training camp at the center. The center is able to open due in part to TechnoAlpin Snowfactory technology. Mt. Van Hoevenberg is the only location in North America to have the machine, capable of making snow with temperatures as high as 60 degrees. Cascade Trailhead Closed; Shuttle Information


Important shuttle information for access to Cascade Mountain for Columbus Day Weekend 1. All parking for the Cascade Mountain trailhead along Route 73 will be closed October 4th – October 8th. 2. Parking will be located at the Olympic Sports Complex. 3. Shuttles will pick up hikers at the Olympic Sports Complex. 4.
